After years of working in the control room at various theatres, I have become accustomed to a much dimmer working environment with tightly focussed warm-coloured task lights. Combined with dark themes on my software and desktop, I have noticed a massive reduction in eye strain. This light is a great task light when the keyboard is your only physical task, or in combination with a desk lamp that is focussed on your paperwork. There are lots of adverts around for "super-bright" and "daylight" lights, which are all the opposite of what I want. In fact, finding a light that is gentle on the eyes can very tricky. This light is capable of searingly bright, cold-coloured light but is also capable of the kind of light I want. I suspect the dimmest, warmest extent of this light will be too extreme for some but it suits me well. The beam shape and penumbra are just right to cover the keyboard with only a small amount of spill. The swivel feature means that it can be angled to miss the screen completely while illuminating the keyboard fully. I prefer this kind of lighting to back-lit keys as i am almost fully a touch-typist but still need to glance down occasionally so need an easy way to aim fingers at keys; the function keys and top-row number keys in particular are nowhere near burned into my muscle memory. With back-lit keys, my size 10 hands cover up most of the illumination, thus defeating the purpose of such keys. The body of the light feels as though it has been milled from a solid piece of metal so I am confident it will survive well in my work bag alongside my laptop and all the other bits and bobs that make up my portable office. The blurb and photos indicate that the light is intended for desktop monitors but I am actually using it on my laptop. It works well for me. I have a portable power supply anyway for when I am away from mains power for extended periods and, if I use that instead of taking power from my laptop, I can work for a long time while still leaving spare power in my laptop for later. For shorter stints, taking power from my laptop is not a problem.

Upon opening the box I had high hopes and as I expected I was greeted with very high quality materials and helpful manuals. The product features 4 different temperature modes, 4 different brightness options and all with soft touch buttons (no cheap clicking sounds) and a usb C to usb A (2.0) cable however I have a very irregular shaped monitor so it is not very sturdy and I have to be cautious about pressing the buttons too hard, also it is quite bulky I would have liked it to be a bit more low profile for the price. Overall this product is good value for money and i would recommend buying to friends/ family. And I would shop with Quintis again

I know there are a lot of options out there, but for this price range this Quntis model turned out to be brilliant (no pun intended, honest!) and just what I needed. I have it on my 28" BenQ display and it works a treat, the ON/Off button responds to the slightest brush/touch, and it is plugged into my PC USB - i Haven't experienced any issues using the buttons on the light. I don't have it on all the time, just when I in meetings (WFH) or at night and need to see the keyboard & desktop without turning on the room lights. You know, it is one of those things you don't really need, but once you have it you wonder how you survived for so long without it... a great idea and so much more efficient than using the room lights (in this room there are 4 lights that come on), so this is modestly saving energy use, while giving lots of convenience in lighting just what I need. I'm loving it! I'm not sure if a remote control would be any use for me, so if I had to buy another one I would probably still just save money and go for the touch button style like this.... your mileage might vary, but for me it wasn't worth it spending more to get a remote.

Let me get this straight it's noticeably not as good as the BenQ one. But you probably wouldn't expect it to be at the price level it's at. The real question is how good does it perform relative to its pricepoint then? Good news, it's good. I've had this for over 2 years now. Zero issues at all with the lighting. Yeah, a product designed to cast light is good at lighting. Guess we can go home. On a serious note, there's 2 cons with this. One, lighting options are somewhat limited. Two, it doesn't perfectly cast light away from the monitors surface. There is a minor amount of glare. Practically unnoticeable if you're on a matte screen. That's arguably the biggest thing that separates its pricetag from the BenQ one. Still, it does a very good job at it for the majority of people. Otherwise, the construction is good. Mounting is easy, it comes with a nice braided USB C cable which I was not expecting, and its touch controls are responsive. If you plug this into your monitor or computer, it'll automatically turn off when the source is. May sound obvious to some, but it is important to note that most PC's still supply power even when the system is off. And hey, it gives you a very good reason to shut off your pc if you haven't done it in a while

Had it for a month. Like it still. Buy it. It works. Sometimes I don't want an overhead light illuminating the entire room. Sometimes I want just my desk lit so I can work with all the peripheral distractions cloaked in darkness. This lamp does that for me. It’s bright enough and has several tones and levels of brightness. The little remote is battery powered and works excellently. I am no industrial design guru so I do not have a suggestion on how it could be better. It seems pretty spot on to me for its form and function. The base to mount it to the monitor has the dexterity to mount just about any monitor, curved or straight. Heck, even a CRT if you stuck in 1980. The light also has the same buttons as the remote in case the batteries die on you. The light plugs in via usb. The whole thing seems like it is decently built and I’d wager if I don’t use it as a bat it’ll last me a long time.
